Stop Spam, Utility to Hide Email Address on your Website

Ever hear the term "botnet" or "spiders?"

Many have not grasped the extent to which computers surf The Web as compared to humans.  Just the same as Bing, Google, and Yahoo! search your site with a computer program to determine when it should show up in search results, Spammers use like programs, sometimes called spiders, to gobble up email addresses off your site.

At Web-Kong we recommend websites use a "Contact Form" which prevents any email address from being visible to visitors, but if necessary we recommend this handy little utility.  It creates an image of an email address, or any text for that matter, to be used in lieu of displaying it in your site.  As humans we have no problem reading and distinguishing what the image reads, but spiders and similar programs have difficultly "reading" the image.  Note this is a hinderance for such programs, but not an inconquerable impossibility!

HideText is a simple and free utility for use on your site.  If you have scearios where you must put an email address on your site try this gem.
